Govind Narang lives an honest life in a small village in Punjab. He is a handsome and good-looking young man who would be willing to fight for anyone's cause. However he loves a pretty young woman, Sudha but marries Masterji's daughter, Pushpa, as she is pregnant by a police man, who refuses to marry her. When Pushpa learns of Govind's old relationship with Sudha, she along with her brother, Laxman, would turn and twist all round to throw Sudha out of the village but to no avail. When Laxman finds out about Pushpa's infidelity, he poisons her, and she receives pain and eventually passed out. After the death of his wife, Govind along with his sister Ratnna, relocates to an area called Azad Nagar in Bombay. He soon meets dancer/singer Gitika, and they fall in love. Govind soon makes enmity with Johnny and his brother Danny handsome when he defends the honor of a young girl, Johnny also is humiliated by Govind and others, and swears vengeance with the help of Sadanana Kutty and Karim Khan Toofani. Where as Govind also attempts to help hawkers and sole Traders by building a market for them to put up there businesses and so he befriends a savior Ram Shevak, and with his help and assistance gathers a lump sum of money to purchase a large plot of land. But everyone turn out to be fakes and Govind gets all the blame, entrapped to Johnny and his gang where his sister is openly raped ; and Govind himself gets seriously wounded in broad daylight before the very eyes of the people he pitied and try to save. Will Govind ever recover? What will happen to his sister? Will he be able to grant revenge towards his enemies? After putting together his life once again from a traumatic experience in his past; Govind Narang accompanied by his sister Rattna comes to reside in Azad Nagar, Bombay. He cannot stand injustice in any shape and form; this brings him into enmity with a gangster Johnny and his younger brother Danny Handsome. Obstructed by the interference into their criminal activities Johnny and his gang brutally beats up Govind leaving him to die and sexually molest Rattna in broad-daylight. Sunil Shetty started as an action hero but after HU TU TU he started doing diverse cinema, yet he also did commercial films like this The film is a remake of a telugu film SIVIAH but there is nothing worthwhile to talk, It reminds us of almost every action film Sunil Shetty plays a village guy who then fights against the gundas his sister gets raped and he sues the bhastiwale for being mute spectator There are other sub plots too like Sunil's marriage with Suman Ragnathan, Sunil loving Sushmita.etc but overall the film is crap In fact it's predictable, annoying and the unwanted comedy too irritates

Direction is crap Music is okay

Sunil Shetty repeats his BHAI, KRODH act but what else you expect him to do in such roles? Sushmita Sen is decent but hardly looks a cop, Sharad Kapoor in his first release after JOSH where he got praise is wasted, Among villains Gulshan Grover, Mukesh Tiwari, Alok Nath(yes) are all stereotypical, Suman Ragnathan is hardly there, Namrata Shirodkar plays the second heroine, rest are okay Aaghaaz is one such film where Sunil Shetty is given another chance to prove himself as a capable actor after some horrible films like Kala Samrajya. The movie has a damn good start explaining the problems of what a place like Mumbai has in general and how the bad people like our villains are doing too much bad making things out of control. However, the first half of the film is based on romance between our calm and gentle hero and heroine. But, circumstances make Shetty marry another girl and leave the heroine. This is a good flow as there isn't boring romance throughout the film. The main romantic twist in the first half is how the bad brother in law kills the wife of Sunil who just wanted his wealth. However, the second half is where the actual fun starts. Though described as a typical action hero and always being the saviour of the poor, Shetty excels in his action scenes. He beats the baddies black and blue. But, they obviously get tough and torture our hero but stabbing him several times and have her sister molested in public which is just too much injustice. The main problem wit the story is these parts that drag the movie for an extra 20 minutes. The courtroom scenes and the scenes where Shetty is crying in pain to ask for help for his sister is just too much. Plus, some unknown actors like Akshay Anand perform poorly which annoys. The performances are average. Shetty excels and so does Sushmita Sen. Alok Nath also does well as the dynamic character who lures Shetty to the den and gets him wounded at the hands of the enemy. His change of character is good. The rest provide good to average support. On the whole, Aaghaaz will only be remembered as a typical film. Though, the film was a hit it has been criticized.
